Teignmouth Main Beach
ENCAMS Quality Coast Award 2010
A long sandy beach stretching lazily from the mouth of the estuary east towards Dawlish. You can just imagine the Victorians promenading on the Promenade and the bathing machines being rolled out onto the beach.
The views out to sea are amazing. To the east the famous Jurassic Coastline. On a clear day spot Portland Bill. To the west the stunning red coastline of Torbay and Berry Head in the far distance.
Children just love the long sandy beach. So much sand to play with. There's always so much room, just what you want.
A mix of shingle and sand the beach slopes very gently towards the sea. Look out for the sand bars study them whilst you are here. They can change shape overnight.
