If you wish to use vehicles to ply for hire for passengers direct from the street you will require a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence and a Hackney Carriage Driver's Licence.
Alternatively, pre-booked vehicles fall within Private Hire legislation. These vehicles are required to have a Private Hire Vehicle Licence and for the driver to have a Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence.
In addition the person making the provision for the acceptance of the bookings will require a Private Hire Vehicle Operator's Licence.
