Bus and travel passes

Teignbridge District Council provides concessionary bus travel for residents aged over 60 and for the disabled.

Road

First Time Applicants for a Bus Pass

The new scheme will provide free off-peak travel on all registered local bus services within England between 9.30am in the morning and 11.00pm in the evening on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public bank holidays.

You are entitled to a bus pass if you are resident in Teignbridge and either you are over 60 or you:

  • are blind or partially sighted
  • are profoundly or severely deaf
  • are without speech
  • are disabled, or have suffered an injury, which has a substantial and long term adverse effect on your ability to walk
  • do not have arms or have long term loss of the use of both arms
  • have a learning disability, that is, a state of arrested or incomplete
    development of mind which includes significant impairment of intelligence and social functioning, or
  • would, if you applied for the grant of a licence to drive a motor vehicle
    under Part III of the Road Act 1988, have your application refused pursuant to section 92 of that Act (physical fitness) otherwise than on the grounds of persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol.
