Play Areas

Teignbridge has 46 designated play areas which have formal play equipment.

Teignbridge is proud to announce that there are two new premier play areas serving the needs of the community and visitors.

The Den Play, Powderham Terrace, Teignmouth - Premier Play Area

This play area was awarded the Community Benefit category of the RICS Award in 2006.

This is an inclusive play facility, which caters for young children up to teenagers.  There are four play zones offering exciting and challenging play to different ages and abilities. It is located in the resort town of Teignmouth adjacent to Powderham Terrace, situated on public open space close to other good quality facilities including the promenade, beach, public toilets, café, car park and shops.

The play area has been designed around flowing curves and this has created wonderful individual play zones that segregate different age ranges.

There is an interactive wet play feature, sun shelter and ample seating for parents. The play area includes new planting and green spaces for picnicking.

The Den area is a focal point of the town and busy all day long attracting 200 children and parents every day.
