Ness Cove, Shaldon
Keep Britain Tidy Quality Coast Award 2009
Ness Cove lies at the foot of the magnificent Ness Headland, a landmark feature of the South Devon coastline. Accessed via an original Smugglers tunnel, Ness Cove is one our most secluded and picturesque beaches.
Mainly shingle, the beach graduates gently towards the sea. Why not try fishing for shrimps in the glistening rock pools, or try a spot of fishing from the beach. Or alternately just sit and watch the rest of the world go by.
For bather safety, watercraft are not permitted between the yellow marker buoys and the shoreline, apart from access to the beach via a marked access lane as marked on the beach maps (Downloads top right).
You can book the beach for evening barbeques, the Ness Beach booking form with the conditions of use can be downloaded from the top right.
Dogs are permitted all year round. Teignbridge District Council welcomes responsible dog owners, please ensure that you clear up after your pet.
