Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP)

If Housing Benefit or Universal Credit does not cover all of your rent you will have a shortfall.

If you have a rent shortfall you might be able to receive Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP).

The government provides us with a limited amount of money to assist those who need extra help with housing costs. DHP are not benefit payments, they are made at our discretion, if having looked at your application, we believe you need extra support.

You must be receiving a current Housing Benefit payment for us to be able to consider an application for DHP.

To apply please download and complete the DHP Application Form.
