Economic Development Plan 2018-2023

Our Economic Development Plan (EDP) sets out what we do to support local business and boost the local economy.

The EDP is accompanied by an Action Plan which sets out the timescales and measures of success for the specific projects.

A series of Economic Factsheets were produced to inform the plan, giving a snapshot of the Teignbridge economy.

Exeter and Heart of Devon Economic Strategy (EHOD)

The EHOD area comprises of four local councils - Teignbridge, Exeter, Mid Devon and East Devon. Economic Development teams across these authorities share a collaborative, forward looking mindset, conscious of how administrative boundaries are of little concern to businesses.

Given EHOD's shared economic geography it was recognised that there are strong grounds for a Shared Economic Strategy, which was published in November 2016.

Devon Strategy for growth

The Devon County Council’s (DCC) Strategic Plan sets out how the county can ensure that Devon is strong, healthy and prosperous, and is the place we all want it to be. It highlights the role that enterprise can play in helping us achieve that goal and our vision of improving quality of life for all who live, work and visit the county

Teignbridge District Council Local Plan

The Teignbridge Local Plan 2013 to 2033 sets out the Council's planning vision for the district, delivering growth, jobs, homes, facilities and environmental protection. It is the framework which guides development and offers much better protection for places the Council has not earmarked for development. It was adopted by the Council on 6 May 2014.
