Cricketfield car park proposals - feedback

Cricketfield Car Park – Decking Proposals

The decking at Cricketfield car park is proposed to ensure that there isn’t overall loss of parking provision in the town centre, so this remains a realistic option alongside improved sustainable travel links. The car park is to include e-charging facilities as well as covered bicycle parking.

A simple deck and a half design is proposed, to accommodate over 100 additional spaces. This can provide relocation capacity for some street-side spaces from Queen Street, to enable the pedestrian realm improvements on Queen Street and to enable the flexibility for further, future regeneration investment to be made in Newton Abbot.

Please see the Queen Street pedestrian and access enhancements information and plans to view more detail on how this links to the car park decking.

Summary of Cricketfield Car Park Feedback

Little feedback was received on proposals to increase capacity at Cricketfield car park, so as to ensure that there was no overall loss of parking provision in the town centre. By adding decking the proposals anticipate in the region of 115 additional spaces at Cricketfield.
