Here's a selection of the comments received by visitors during our 2018 Coach Tour Survey...

"How helpful and pleasant the stall holders and indoor market personnel were, very helpful."

"Very pleasant place to visit and shop."

"Nice atmosphere in markets and shops."

"Good coach parking near market."

Liv Godwin, outdoor market trader

Liv has had a market store for 30 years and comes to Newton Abbot twice a week. She said that the market is a big draw for shoppers and she has her regulars.

"I like to give a personal service and find out exactly what my customers want, that's what you cannot get online. I never buy my stock online and not everyone wants to buy online because you can't touch anything to feel the quality. I think that is a big part of the shopping experience plus it's the human contact, everyone needs that."

Liz Stoneman, indoor market trader

"Being part of the market is ideal when you're starting out because you're part of something bigger than just your shop.”

Real Deal

Newton Abbot Market is committed to fake-free trading and has signed the Real Deal National Markets Charter with Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service. By signing the charter, the market and its stallholders are reaffirming their commitment that fake and other illicit goods are not welcome.
