4. Memorials

Memorials can only be placed on purchased graves or cremation plots. You can contact an approved Monumental Mason who will guide you through the types of headstone available and the permitted sizes.  They will submit an application to the Cemetery Office on your behalf. There is a permit fee payable.

There is a height restriction of 3ft for memorials. The safety and maintenance of memorials and any repairs that might become necessary are the responsibility of the grave owners and not the Council. Monumental Masons can arrange memorial maintenance agreements and can also provide insurance for the protection of memorials against vandalism etc.
