Review of Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005

Teignbridge District Council, as ‘the licensing authority’ are reviewing the ‘statement of principles’, as required by the Gambling Act 2005, and is now available for public consultation.  Comments are welcome from the police, the fire service, licence holders, businesses, residents, and their representatives.

The licensing objectives under the Gambling Act and are;

  • Preventing  gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime
  • Ensuring that gaming is conducted in a fair and open way, and
  • Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

You will find the licensing authorities draft ‘Statement of Principles’, as a download under related links, along with information of the changes that have been made.  We would be grateful if you could take time to read and comment upon if you wish.
