1. Notice of review

Due to the general election taking place on Thursday 4 July, the review of polling places and polling places will be delayed until after the election has been held.  The statutory deadline to complete the review is 31 January 2025 and we will meet this deadline.  A new timetable will be published after the election and the review process will re-commence from then.

Notice is hereby given that Teignbridge District Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by sections 18A to 18E of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended by the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013), shall undertake a review of the parliamentary polling districts and parliamentary polling places within its area.

The consultation period for this review will commence on Monday 22 April 2024 and end on Friday 31 May 2024.

Any person or organisation wishing to make a representation in respect of the arrangement of polling districts and polling places within the boundary of Teignbridge District Council; must write to: Electoral Services Manager, Polling District Review, Electoral Services Office, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot TQ12 4XX or by email to by 31 May 2024.

The Council would welcome any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to comment on the proposals, or on any other matter relating to this review. Where possible, people making representations should suggest alternative places that may be used as polling places.

In conducting this review, we will request submissions from the Acting Returning Officers for the Newton Abbot Constituency and the part of the Central Devon Constituency within the Teignbridge District Council authority area. These submissions will be published and available for inspection at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot TQ12 4XX and on our website no later than Monday 24 June 2024.

The closing date for comments on any proposals set out in the Draft Order or Acting Returning Officers’ submissions is Friday 12 July 2024. We will then consider the Acting Returning Officer’s recommendations together with any other representations made.

All submissions, correspondence, minutes and decisions relating to the review will be made public on this website as the review progresses. It is intended that the Council will publish its final proposals during August 2024.
