Public Health advice

Here are some useful tips to help you protect yourself and avoid infecting others, plus some links to advice from the experts.

Cleaning and Disposal of Waste: When cleaning, household products like detergents and bleach will be effective at getting rid of the virus on surfaces. Clean frequently touched surfaces.

Coronavirus households: Personal waste (used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste within your own room. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.

Hygiene is essential. Washing hands for minimum 20 seconds with soap and hot water is a must.

Personal protection. We must all heed the expert advice on keeping ourselves safe and not infecting others.

Self-isolating. If you’ve been advised to self-isolate, or you have an underlying health issue, or if you have immediate carer responsibilities DO NOT come into work. Follow the national guidance.
