Local Government Ombudsman complaints

The Local Government Ombudsman considers complaints about Councils. If you are making a complaint then please raise this with us first. If you remain unhappy after we have considered the complaint, you can contact the Local Government Ombudsman.

How to contact the Local Government Ombudsman

  • call the Local Government Ombudsman Advice Team on 0300 061 0614 to discuss your complaint,
  • go to the Local Government Ombudsman website at www.lgo.org.uk where you will find an online complaint form,  
  • fax the Local Government Ombudsman on 024 7682 0001,
  • text 'call back' on 0762 481 1595, or 
  • write to the Local Government Ombudsman at PO Box 4771, Coventry, CV4 0EH.

Local Government Ombudsman's Annual Reports

The Local Government Ombudsman publishes an annual report on complaints made by the public about Teignbridge District Council and these are available on their website Local Government Ombudsman Annual Reports.

Local Government Ombudsman's Decision Statements

The Local Government Ombudsman will issue a statement of reasons for every complaint decision and a copy will be sent to us and the complainant.

Decision Statements were introduced by the Local Government Ombudsman on 31 August 2010.
