4. The People's Panel

The People's Panel is a review group made up of trained volunteers from our Talking Teignbridge Residents' Panel, and member of key interest groups representing faith, race, disabilities, and other minority groups.

When we design a policy or implement a service improvement, we always consult with the people who we think will be the most affected, but there's always a chance we've missed something or someone.

The role of this review group is to help provide a challenge; we ask them to bring their experiences and expertise to help us think about the consequences of the work we do, from the viewpoint of people with protected characteristics, additional requirements, or unique perspectives.

We have a duty to think about the impacts of our decisions on people, businesses, and places. By opening up the process to local people and key interest groups, they can help us to challenge our thinking and arrive at the best judgements.

If you would like to join the people's panel please contact the consultation team.
