2. How to make a Freedom of Information request

Before you start, check if we already have published the information!

What to include

You should provide:

  • your name
  • a contact address or email address
  • a detailed description of the information you want - for example, you might want all information held on a subject, or just a summary

When you'll get a response

You should receive the information within 20 working days, however every attempt will be made to provide it sooner where possible.  We will inform you when to expect the information if more time is needed. We may also ask you for further details to enable us to understand the request and to identify the information you are interested in.

Costs

Most requests are free but you might be asked to pay a small amount for photocopies or postage.  We will let you know  if you have to pay anything.
