Teignbridge Jobs Plan 2021

Mission 1: Transforming town centres

  • Harnessing funding and resources to upgrade all of our town centres and visitor experiences.
  • Successfully deploying the Future High Street Fund in Newton Abbot.
  • Supporting all towns across the district that want to put in place town centre manager arrangements.

Mission 2: Helping businesses to start and grow

  • Signposting business support; and training run by business leaders.
  • Direct delivery and facilitating new employment sites; and matchmaking employers to existing premises.
  • Dedicated town planning service for developments that protect and create jobs.
  • Working with partners to deliver work hubs.

Mission 3: Connectivity and access to markets

  • Promoting and helping to facilitate modern internet speeds for all businesses.
  • Up to date training and advice to help businesses and tourist attractions to trade on-line successfully.
  • Prioritising council procurement of local contractors and services

Mission 4: Modernising the visitor economy

  • Develop a voluntary Coastal Contribution to help upgrade our resorts.
  • Facilitating and funding upgrades to our transport network and supporting green travel.
  • Partnering to fund and deliver the Teign Estuary Trail.
