Community Governance Review for the Parish of Dunchideock

Show all parts of this guide

1. Community Governance Review

We have received a petition signed by over 50% of Dunchideock’s registered electors, requesting the following:

That Teignbridge District Council should commence a Community Governance Review (CGR) to consider whether Dunchideock Parish Council should be abolished and replaced with an informal community forum.

We will be conducting a review and welcome feedback from as many residents as possible.

We are providing additional information which you may find useful when considering your response and it will be kept up to date as the review progresses.

In the meantime you may wish to consider the following information on the current parish governance arrangements and options for replacing the parish council. To remain a civil parish, Dunchideock must have some form of formal governance arrangements in place. It is not possible to abolish the parish council and continue to manage parish business on a completely informal basis.
