12. European Parliamentary Election on Thursday 23 May 2019

European Parliamentary Election

Elections to the European Parliament are currently due to be held on Thursday 23 May 2019.

Teignbridge District Council is wholly located within the South West and Gibraltar constituency which elects 6 Members of the European Parliament (MEP).  European Parliamentary Elections use a closed-list party list system of proportional representation which is calculated by the D’hondt Method.

How to vote

If you are not registered you have until Tuesday 7 May to apply.

If you don’t think you will be able to get to your polling station you can apply to vote by post.  The deadline to submit an application is 5pm on Wednesday 8 May. 

If you currently vote by post the poll card will confirm the address your postal ballot will be sent to. 

You can appoint someone else to go to the polling station to vote on your behalf.  The deadline to submit an application is 5pm on Wednesday 15 May 2019.

If you currently vote by proxy the poll card will confirm the name of the person you have appointed as your proxy.
