This is a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Full time, 37 hours a week
For this role
You will be based in the office in Newton Abbot but working across Teignbridge, with the occasional requirement to attend some evening meetings.
What you'll be doing
You will lead the management of the Council’s Housing Needs Function to ensure the Council provides excellent services to those in housing need within Teignbridge.
You will also develop the service, using a range of innovative housing options whilst working collaboratively with other agencies across the public, voluntary and private sector and utilising resources.
You will need to ensure high standards of performance in the service, manage and develop budgets and finances and develop and deliver the Councils homelessness strategy in collaboration with other agencies.
Who we're looking for
senior member of a relevant professional organisation and a degree level qualification or equivalent in Housing or other social welfare discipline.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- extensive experience at senior management level within Housing
- substantial knowledge of homelessness, housing legislation, safeguarding and finance in relation to temporary accommodation and supported housing
- experience of developing and managing formal partnership agreements including complex contract management
- ability to develop persuasive, evidence based business cases
