The applications for the £150 energy payments has now closed.

If we think you are eligible for the Energy Rebate, the unclaimed payment may have been applied to the Council Tax account as a direct payment and you will receive a new Council Tax Bill showing the £150 rebate.

Who was eligible for the Energy Payment

Households in Council Tax bands A to D and those in band E who receive Disablement Reduction, could have received a one-off payment of the £150 rebate which was intended to support all occupants of the household.

Discretionary Scheme

A Discretionary Energy Rebate scheme was available to support residents in Council Tax bands E-H who receive Council Tax Reduction and certain residents who do not pay council tax but are directly responsible for payment of energy bills. Further information on this scheme is here.

Council Tax Rebate Scams

We are aware there have been reports of Council Tax scams in relation to the £150 council tax energy rebate.

If you receive a phone call asking for your bank details in exchange for the £150 rebate, please do not pass these on. Report scam text messages by forwarding them to 7726 for free or contact Action Fraud.
