Reducing Cost and Carbon in your Home and Business

With rising energy prices and falling technology costs, installing solar photovoltaics on your home or business could save you money as well as reduce your carbon footprint.

If you are thinking about installing solar PV on your home or business, take a look at the Micro generation Certification Scheme (MCS) website, which contains a register of certified installers who will be able to provide tailored advice for your specific project; whilst speaking to an installer, you could also ask them about other low carbon products they might offer, such as insulation, LED lighting, heat pumps and EV charging points.

In many cases, solar PV systems fall under permitted development rights and will not require full planning consent, subject to certain design criteria, listed building status and proximity to heritage conservation areas; for more information, please see the guidance available on the planning portal for residential and commercial solar PV systems.
