1. Electric Vehicles charging infrastructure and Ultra Low Emission Vehicles policy

The 'plug-in' revolution

Introduction

The demand for cleaner travel is increasing, and the time is coming when petrol and diesel vehicles will be consigned to history and we will all be either owners of, or a customer needing access to, an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle, most likely an Electric Vehicle.

The policy explains:

  • how Teignbridge District Council intend to support local residents, businesses and visitors to our area who wish to use Electric Vehicles (EV) or other Ultra Low Emission Vehicles
  • in straightforward terms how and where we believe the provision of charging points will be unfolding and who should be providing the charging points in the various places that they will be needed.
