Filthy premises
Filthy premises are neighbouring properties which are impacting on your property by the condition that they are in. This usually means that there is rotting food, human or animal excrement inside the property.
These powers cannot be used to deal with 'cluttered' or untidy houses, rubbish in gardens etc.
If you are concerned about the person living in the property and want to get help for them or yourself, you could contact Devon County Council Social Care and Health
A property that may be in a filthy condition will be inspected by an officer.
Where appropriate, we will service legal notices requiring owners to clear filthy premises.
