What we've done
This website contributes to a key commitment in our Council Strategy by enabling you to access key services online, anytime, anywhere. It has also saved you, the taxpayer, £8,000 a year because it's been moved to a system shared with our IT partners Exeter and East Devon councils.
Every piece of information on the old site has either been rewritten or scrapped - this means the content that has been left is easier to find and more understandable.
Pages are broken down into chapters with quick-hit 'start' buttons for reporting, applying or paying for things - all those tasks you carry out with us already.
The colours, text size, fonts, the way you can navigate through the site and even the way the site increases in size has all been done with accessibility in mind.
We're making it easier for you to access the services you use most and services are listed alphabetically too.
The new look site will tell you which services we don't provide or are done by another organisation. This will help point you in the right direction so you don't need to waste your time searching around.
What we've not done
The forms you fill in for paying for things are on our to-do list although you may notice they look the same as the new site. This will be done over time. We are continuously working on improving our website and this new-look site is no different; so we will maintain our commitment to developing and improving this site for you.
