6. Mortgage payments

Mortgage lenders are not permitted to continue, or begin court action for repossession until 31 October 2020.

If you are struggling to meet your repayments, please contact your mortgage provider to discuss your options. You may request a 3 month payment holiday if you are struggling to pay due to the Coronavirus. You may also have payment protection insurance through your current account that could be claimed towards these costs.

If you have already received a 3 month payment holiday, but are still unable to make full payments, your lender may consider offering a further 3 month payment holiday.

The missed payments will be added to the cost of your mortgage, which often means your monthly payments may increase.
