Community Led Housing Fund

The Community Led Housing Fund is a key part of our rural delivery plan and supports projects that deliver affordable homes for local people.

These projects are:

  • led by a parish, town council, a formal community group, or a community land trust
  • engaged with the community at all stages of the project, including site identification
  • working to deliver affordable homes for local people in partnership with a housing association, or self-build group

Homes developed must meet the definition of 'affordable homes', as set out in the current National Planning Policy Framework.

Funding is available for community consultation and engagement, set up costs for a Community Land Trust or Housing Co-Op and up to £10,000 for pre-development feasibility work. We no longer provide capital funding for developments.

An early discussion with our Housing Enabling Team is recommended.

Applications

Applications must be made with the knowledge of the local town and parish councils, or community based organisations, such as a Community Land Trust, or a Housing Co-Operative.

If our Housing Enabling Team is not already working with you or you wish to apply for funding, please contact Housing for further advice and guidance.
