2. Direct payments to residents
We have used Housing Benefit and Council Tax records to identify pensionable age households who are not in receipt of Pension Credit, Pension Savings or other winter fuel passported benefit, on a low income as they are in receipt of either Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support, who are likely to face the financial hardship this winter.
Households that are identified as being born before September 1944 (aged 80 and over) will be offered a £300 award.
Households that are identified on our records of pensionable age and born after September 1944 will be offered a £200 award.
From 4 November 2024 all eligible customers will receive a letter which will confirm details of the scheme. A letter with the voucher will follow and contain instructions on how to cash the voucher at the Post office.
The voucher must be redeemed within one month of issue. If you have not received your voucher by 30 November 2024 and you received the first letter from us, please contact us as soon as possible.
Any unclaimed vouchers will be refunded to us and we will reallocate that funding.
