1. Current strategy on carbon reduction and energy efficiency for domestic properties

The Council Strategy 2016-2025 identifies ten "super projects". This includes 3 relevant projects; "Zero Heroes" to reduce waste and carbon emissions both within Council buildings and to promote work on reducing environmental impact and encouragement of others to do the same. "Health at the Heart" which includes the number of properties receiving free or subsidised energy efficiency measures and "A roof over our head" which includes the improvement of housing conditions including energy efficiency measures in people homes.

The Teignbridge Local Plan 2013-2033 also details how the council intends to reduce carbon emissions. The plan states that the council will work proactively with partners and through public and private investment and the management of development, will seek to achieve reductions in carbon emissions per person arising within Teignbridge of about 42% from 2009 levels by 2030.

Several schemes have been implemented by the local authority in support of energy saving/carbon reduction in residential accommodation.
