Winter Wonderland brings festive spirit and Santa to Dawlish Leisure Centre

Santa is making a special visit to Teignbridge and will be the star attraction as for the first time Dawlish Leisure Centre is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland on Sunday 9 December, 10am to 4pm.

Offering something for the whole family, with market stalls, refreshments, children’s activities, a giant inflatable and sing-a-long with Ben and Josie, the highlight for any child will be the visit of Santa himself to Winter Wonderland.

To really get you in the festive spirit, and for those children who have been good, a special Santa Christmas Experience is also being offered. Here you will be taken on a festive journey which will include a photo booth for perfecting those family Christmas pictures, arts and crafts with reindeer food making and writing letters to Santa.

The one hour Santa Christmas Experience can be booked in advance at the leisure centre for a discounted price of £6 per child (£10 on the day) or by calling 01626 215637.

Market stall holders are also being encouraged to get involved and there is still availability at £15 for the day, which includes a table and chair. For further information about this please email

Dawlish Leisure Centre isn’t just for Christmas though as along with Teignbridge operated leisure centres in Newton Abbot and Broadmeadow, there’s a fantastic range of facilities and activities on offer all year round, including sports halls, swimming pools, gyms, indoor cycling weight rooms and instructor led fitness classes.

For anyone who is a regular leisure centre user, or already planning their new year resolutions, then all-inclusive membership offers are available while for those who prefer water-based activities then there is a membership suited to these. Swim lessons are also available and all ages are catered for – from babies and children to parents and adults. You can learn with confidence as Teignbridge Leisure follows the Sport England Learn to Swim, using qualified teachers to provide important life skills to stay safe in the water.

Encouraging communities to be out and about and active is at the heart of Teignbridge’s ten year strategy. Teignbridge’s leisure centres provide accessible and good quality facilities which encourage a healthy lifestyle and inclusive participation.
