Coveted Green Flag Award for four Teignbridge parks

Four parks in Teignbridge have received this prestigious international quality mark for parks and green spaces, reflecting the fantastic work our teams do to maintain and manage them.
The four - Courtenay Park and Decoy Country Park in Newton Abbot, Homeyards Botanical Gardens in Shaldon and the Den in Teignmouth - attract huge numbers of residents and visitors each year.
Executive Member for Sport, Recreation and Culture, Cllr John Nutley, said “It is wonderful news that these four parks have again been recognised for the quality space they provide to residents and visitors.
“I would like to thank all our staff for their hard work throughout the year to maintain them as places where people can relax, enjoy the open space and explore the flora and fauna that they offer”.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
