The six-week major makeover of the award-winning children's play area at the Den in Teignmouth has been completed on schedule and will be formally re-opened tomorrow (Friday 22 July) in time for the school holidays.

Children will be able to enjoy a range of new equipment which has been installed as part of the refurbishment.

We’re still awaiting delivery of the two new features but as soon as these arrive they will be installed and tested, and we’ll get them open as soon as possible.

Councillor John Nutley, Teignbridge Executive Member for leisure, said: “We’re really pleased to be opening this newly refurbished play park in time for the start of the school summer holidays.

“We’ve incorporated lots of new equipment and facilities, and many of the features are accessible for children with sensory, physical or learning disabilities.

“We hope this fantastic facility for Teignmouth will be enjoyed over the summer by local families and visitors to the town.”

The equipment includes a range of sensory and inclusive equipment for age groups from 2 years up to 12 years that encourage play and social activity, investigation and problem solving, communication, balance and movement skills, from a 6m high ocean multi-play structure to a sensory totem pole and an inclusive basket swing.
