Devon Building Control Partnership enjoyed unprecedented success in the recent regional Local Authority Building Control Awards.

As well as winning the prestigious Team of the Year Award, DBCP picked up six other awards reflecting their expertise in supporting clients, working closely with their specialist construction partners and ensuring high quality development.

The 'Best Medium Volume New Housing Development' award went to Shell Cove and the 'Best Public or Community Building category' was won by The Hope Centre in Dawlish.

The Lookout Tower topped the nominations for the 'Best Residential Conversion, Alteration to an Existing Home' category through partnership working with East Devon District Council;  Dorsley Grange in Totnes was picked as the 'Best Residential Conversion to a Single New Home'; while Above Town in Dartmouth won the 'Best Individual New Home' award.

And DBCP with New Space Architecture won the 'Best Partnership with a Local Authority Building Control Team'.

Winning the South West team of the year means that DBCP will compete with other regions for the coveted national award at an event to be held in Grosvenor House Hotel on 19 January 2024.

Nigel Hunt, Head of Devon Building Control paid tribute to the team. “We are fortunate to have a group of hard working, dedicated staff who work closely in support of our clients and achieve for them outstanding results.  I would like to thank everyone for the contributions they have made over recent months”.
