Other Sites of Wildlife Interest (OSWI)

Sites which have some value for wildlife, but which aren't of County Wildlife Site standard, are called OSWIs. There is no protection for the site. There are over 160 OSWIs in Teignbridge. They are administered by the Devon Biodiversity Records Centre (DBRC).

Unconfirmed Wildlife Site (UWS)

Sites which may be of wildlife value but which have not been surveyed by an expert to check their importance. There is no protection for the site, but we may one day seek to survey the site to see if it is of CWS or OSWI standard. There are over 500 UWSs in Teignbridge. They are administered by the Devon Biodiversity Records Centre (DBRC).

Potential Regionally Important Geological Sites (PRIGS)
