2. NA1 Houghton Barton, Newton Abbot
Land is allocated in the Local Plan (Policy NA1) for at least 1,800 dwellings, 18 hectares of employment, a road linking the A382 to the A383, a primary school, and other community facilities and open spaces. Once adopted, the DFP will be used to help guide planning applications for the Houghton Barton allocation when they are submitted to us.
Consultation on the draft DFP for land at Houghton Barton, Newton Abbot ran from 27 February until 10 April 2017.
Three consultation documents were available to view and comment on:
- Draft Development Framework Document
- Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Statement
- Habitat Regulations Assessment Screening
A consultation drop-in event was held on Thursday 16 March 2017 at Highweek Village Hall, Newton Abbot. The event was well attended and provided the opportunity for people to meet and discuss the proposals with officers from Teignbridge District Council and Devon County Council. What happens next?
Following presentation to the Planning Committee on 21 November 2017, the amended final DFP, and a summary of all issues raised during the consultation period together with comments on how these will be addressed will be published on this webpage.
