Waste and recycling collections

We are currently experiencing delays on a number of refuse, recycling and garden waste rounds. If the whole street has been missed we will be aware and will return as soon as possible. Please leave the bins/containers out for collection.

3. Creating off street parking

We do not provide advice as to whether or not a particular proposal requires planning permission.

As a general rule planning permission will be required if:

  • there are any engineering works involved. Engineering works are normally defined as excavation or building up works that result in changes to the natural ground level in excess of 1 metre.
  • the area is greater than 5 square meters and is between the principal elevation of the house and the highway, unless the new surface is permeable or water is made to run-off the hard surface to a permeable or porous area or surface within the curtilage of the dwelling.

Further information is available on our website at following the links to the Do you need permission? | Planning Portal where you can self-help to see whether permission is required.

For off street parking you may also wish to arrange for a drop kerb – this is dealt with by Devon County Council Highways.
