3. How do I comment on a planning appeal?

Once an appeal has been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate there will be a delay until the Planning Inspectorate issue a 'Start Date'.  At that point the appeal process starts and we will advise anyone who made representations on the planning application that an appeal has been made.

All comments received during the planning application will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate. Any further comments you wish to make should be sent direct to the Planning Inspectorate although please note that for most Householder appeals there is no opportunity to make comments extra to those submitted at the time of the application.

You can view the appeal documents on the website of the Planning Inspectorate and also on our website on our planning and appeal files online

Clicking on the 'Start' button below will take you to the Planning Inspectorate website where you can comment online.

Comments must be made within the timescale set out by the Planning Inspectorate and will not be acknowledged but will be forwarded to the Appellant and the council and will be published on our website for general viewing. You will need the Planning Inspectorate reference number to submit your comments. You can find this on their website using the address or application reference number.

If you would rather comment by post you must send three copies of your letter to The Planning Inspectorate, 3/05a Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN.
