6. Landscape and the Teignbridge Local Plan
The Landscape Sensitivity and Capacity Studies helped inform the planning of growth areas for development in the emerging Teignbridge Local Plan. They provide a guide to the degree of sensitivity of different areas of landscape to built development and analyse their capacity to accommodate built development without unacceptable adverse effects.
There were two such studies:
Teignbridge Landscape Sensitivity and Capacity Study (2013) covering the South West of Exeter, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Dawlish.
Ashburton Landscape Sensitivity and Capacity Study (2013) covering area around Ashburton and carried out jointly with Dartmoor National Park.
