8. What is Undeveloped Coast?

Undeveloped Coast is a local designation in the Teignbridge Local Plan.

Distinctive coastal features include the red sandstone cliffs, rocky headlands and beaches along with the dune complex at Dawlish Warren and the Exe and Teign Estuaries.

The prime objective in these areas is to safeguard unspoilt stretches of the coastline.
