Applying for planning permission
The Duty Officer service is available every afternoon from 1pm to 4.45pm Mon to Thurs and 1pm to 4:15pm Fridays.
Please view the Pre-application planning advice page before submitting an application. Planning applications will be assessed against the Teignbridge Local Plan 2013 - 2033 and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) viewable on the Government Planning Guidance website along with the National Planning Practice Guidance.

Apply Online for Planning. Registration is easy and you can complete your application form, upload supporting documents and pay fees online.
However if you wish to print forms instead we will require at least two copies of everything, three copies if it is a joint application (e.g full and listed building). More copies will be required for a Major Application and this should be discussed as part of your pre-application advice. You can download paper planning application forms to print using either the 'Paper Form Chooser' or for certain types of application, from a list of forms.

All documents will go on the website for public viewing
Your Planning Application form and all other documentation submitted will be viewable online once the application is considered valid. Private telephone numbers, private email addresses and signatures will be removed. Only planning issues should be included and any comments which the council considers to be inappropriate may be removed.
Keeping in touch
You can check the progress of your application on PlanningOnline View and comment on Planning Applications and Appeals . If you have appointed an agent then all correspondence and negotiation will be with your agent and it is their responsibility to keep you informed of any issues raised by us during the application.

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
Dwellings, residential annexes, residential extensions over 100m2 and out of town retail developments are liable to make CIL payments. For further details see Community Infrastructure Levy
If someone else owns all or part of the site
you will need to serve one of the following notices:
- Notice 1: Serve this notice on individuals if Certificate B or C is completed
- Notice 1 (householder applications only): Serve this notice on individuals if Certificate B or C is completed
- Notice 2: Publish this notice in the local newspaper if Certificate C or D is completed
You will need to fill in an Agricultural Questionnaire [152kb] as well as your planning application form if you are applying for a dwelling in connection with an agricultural use of the land.
