5. Applying for planning permission

You should read the Validation Guides which set out the information required for each application.

You must submit a site location plan with the site outlined in red. You can buy a plan online

Your application will not be valid until all the information has been received including the planning fee. You can pay online whilst completing your application.

Clicking on the Start Button below takes you to the government's planning portal where you can complete your application form, upload supporting documents and pay fees online.

All documents will go on the website for public viewing.

Your Planning Application form and all other documentation submitted will be viewable online once the application is considered valid. Private telephone numbers, private email addresses and signatures will be removed. Only planning issues should be included and any comments which the council considers to be inappropriate may be removed.

You may also need to contact Devon Building Control with regard to Building Regulations.

If you wish to submit paper planning application forms instead we will require at one copy of everything, two copies if it is a joint application (eg. full and listed building).  More copies will be required for a Major Application and this should be discussed as part of your pre-application advice.
