Consultation

NA1 Houghton Barton, Newton Abbot Draft Development Framework Plan

The consultation runs from Monday 27 February to Monday 10th April.

Land is allocated in the Local Plan for at least 1,800 dwellings, 18 hectares of employment, a road linking the A382 to the A383, a primary school, and other community facilities and open spaces. We are consulting on a draft masterplan for the site. For more information go to www.teignbridge.gov.uk/houghtonbarton

Draft South Hams Special Area of Conservation Mitigation Strategy

The consultation runs from Monday 27 February to Monday 10th April.

Teignbridge is encouraging people to comment on a Mitigation Strategy that looks at preserving bat flyways where different developments are taking place and making sure that they don't affect bats moving around the wider landscape. The Mitigation Strategy can be viewed at www.teignbridge.gov.uk/biodiversity

Greater Exeter Strategic Plan Consultation: Issues

The consultation runs from Monday 27 February to Monday 10th April.

We are working with Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council and Mid Devon District Council to produce a strategic plan covering the "Greater Exeter" area, shown in the map below. Our involvement in the plan was confirmed by a council decision on 26 September 2016.

The details of the plan are published on a separate website www.gesp.org.uk

Further details on previous consultations can be found in Other Plans and Consultations and Neighbourhood Planning

Teignbridge Local Plan 2013 - 2033

The Local Plan is an important planning document which sets out where homes, employment land, business infrastructure and community facilities will go over the next 20 years.  It also contains policies that protect areas like our coast, moorland, green spaces and safeguards wildlife and habitats.

The Local Plan was the focus of the biggest consultation Teignbridge has undertaken in its history.

It then went through the committee decision making process and was subject to a rigorous public examination by independent Inspector Geoff Salter, before being adopted at Full Council on 6 May 2014.

About the Team

The Council's Spatial Planning and Delivery Team prepares documents to guide the future planning of Teignbridge outside the Dartmoor National Park Authority.  This includes providing for new jobs, homes, open spaces, transport systems and community facilities to meet the district's needs.  These documents are also used for making decisions on Planning Applications and Appeals.
