We are trialling foil recycling in certain areas of the district from November.
If your address is part of the trial you will have had a leaflet through your door to let you know.
If you have not received a leaflet please continue as normal. If the trial is successful, and we are able to extend foil recycling to all areas, we will let you know.
Foil that can be recycled (if you are part of the trial)
- foil containers - eg. ready meals, pie and quiche cases, take away trays and pet food trays
- foil lids - eg. yoghurt and cream tubs, instant noodles
- confectionary foil - some chocolate bars are wrapped in foil
- kitchen foil
Please remove food from your foil and scrunch small pieces of foil together into a tennis ball sized ball before recycling.
- crisp packets
- drink, baby food and pet food pouches
- 'foil' wrapping paper
The scrunch test - if you are unsure if foil can be recycled, scrunch it in your hand. If it stays scrunched it can be recycled, if it bounces back it is film and cannot be recycled.
