Waste and recycling delays

We have delays across our recycling and garden waste rounds. Please leave your containers out and we will collect them as soon as we can. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

2. What can I put in my garden waste bin?

Yes please

  • bark
  • grass cuttings
  • cut flowers
  • weeds (excluding noxious weeds)
  • leaves
  • hedge clippings
  • house plants (please remove soil)
  • twigs and small branches up to 10cm thick
  • shrub prunings
  • real Christmas trees (contained in bin)
  • windfall fruit (spread over a few collections due to weight)

No thanks

  • food waste
  • animal waste and pet litter including straw and hay
  • soil/compost or turf 
  • bricks, stones or rubble 
  • treated wood
  • flower pots
  • fake grass
  • wire netting/fencing
  • garden furniture
  • garden toys
  • crockery
  • ash 
  • paper 
  • cardboard 
  • large items of garden waste (eg. large branches/logs, plant trays, seed pots, bags)
  • packaging, polystyrene or plastic
