Your black recycling box is collected weekly. Please place the box on the kerbside outside your home on your collection day.
What can I put in my black recycling box?

- plastic bottles including lids (eg. drinks, detergent and shampoo bottles)
- plastic pots (eg. yoghurt pots)
- plastic tubs (eg. ice cream tubs and margarine tubs)
- plastic trays (eg. ready meal trays, fruit trays and meat trays)
- food cans
- drinks cans
- metal lids from jars and cans
- biscuit and sweet tins
- empty deodorant aerosols
- empty household aerosols
- foil containers (eg. ready meals, pie and quiche cases, take away trays and pet food trays)
- foil lids (eg. yoghurt and cream tubs, instant noodles)
- confectionary foil - some chocolate bars are wrapped in foil
- kitchen foil

- plastic film (some supermarkets have plastic film recycling collection points)
- plastic wrapping (some supermarkets have plastic film recycling collection points)
- plastic bags (some supermarkets have plastic film recycling collection points)
- plastic toys
- plastic plant pots
- plastic tubes (eg. toothpaste tubes and hand cream tubes)
- cartons (can be recycled at a carton recycling bank)
- other metals
- full aerosols
- paint tins (see paint)
- black plastic
- crisp packets (some supermarkets have plastic film recycling collection points that accept crisp packets)
- drink, baby food and pet food pouches
- 'foil' wrapping paper
- camping gas canisters (take to your local recycling centre)
Please note
- please rinse plastic packaging and tins before recycling
- please squash and stack your packaging where possible to prevent the contents of your box overflowing
- once squashed, you can put your lids back on your plastic bottles to prevent them getting lost when collected and sorted
