3. Self Build Register
We are committed to supporting access to both affordable and market housing for local people. This includes supporting people wishing to build their own homes. We are the first local authority to have a Self Build policy within our local plan Policy WE7 Custom Build Dwellings (see page 55), the 'Teignbridge Rule'.
If you wish to build within the Dartmoor National Park you will need to register your interest here.
If you believe you have previously registered on the self build register, and want to make changes to your details, please contact us.

More info about the journey
Information on where you would like a self build plot, financial and household number details, details of what sort of home you wish to build. These details are all confidential and optional.
By signing up, you will help us find out more about the demand for custom build plots in Teignbridge.
At this stage you are not making any commitment as we are just trying to establish the level of demand. Registration does not guarantee that a suitable plot will be identified, or become available.
In preparing this register, we are making no commitment to provide self-build or custom-build plots.
By applying for a place on the self build and custom house building register you are agreeing that we can use the data you provide to understand demand for self/custom build within Teignbridge. We will not pass identifiable data from the register onto anyone outside the council unless you give us consent to do so within your application. The register will not be a public document, but we may publish 'headline' data from it.
Please contact us and we can send you an email link to the form.
