On your special day you can take in the relaxing atmosphere of this beautiful listed building, which still has many of its original period features. You can make your entrance along the sweeping drive in your wedding car or a horse-drawn carriage. After the ceremony has taken place you and your guests have the opportunity to enjoy a celebration drink either in the Great Hall or outside in the beautiful grounds surrounding the house.
The main part of Old Forde House is licensed as an approved venue, giving exclusive use to you and your guests. There are a number rooms available to hold your wedding ceremony, each one with different features to offer and decorated with our cream flower arrangements.
There is no lift in Old Forde House and access to the first floor is via a staircase.
Exchange your vows outside, underneath the grand entrance of Old Forde House, which leads onto the beautifully manicured grounds. We can provide a maximum of 20 chairs for an outdoor ceremony.
The extensive grounds and the beautifully grand house are the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. The grounds are also available to hire should you wish to erect a marquee.
If you would like to supply a small, cold buffet for your wedding party, we can provide crockery. There is an extra charge for this facility, please speak to our wedding co-ordinator for more information.
You are welcome to bring champagne or wine if you wish to share a drink with your guests after the ceremony. Glasses are provided and drinks will be poured for you.
We pride ourselves on giving you our undivided attention from the time of booking to the big day itself. If you wish to view the house our co-ordinator will be more than happy to show you around and discuss your individual requirements.
Book a registrar
Teignbridge Registry office is based at Old Forde House. You will need to book a registrar through the Devon County Council Registration Service to conduct the ceremony, our rooms are not available for Registry Office weddings.
