Litter on our beaches, especially plastic waste, can take hundreds of years to break down, causing injury to wildlife and spoiling the appeal of our coastal environment for both local residents and visitors. The Teign Estuary Partnership and Creative Workshops for Children worked with Shaldon and Gatehouse Primary Schools, creating a short animated film which highlights the issue of marine debris and litter on the beach, and the effect it has on both marine wildlife and humans using the coast. Some of the characters and sets are made from marine debris collected from the beach as part of the project.
